Bearwood Gardening Club - Spring 2001

The Club continues to meet regularly on the first Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise stated. Recent meetings have included an excellent slide show on ‘Dorset Gardens Large and Small’ by Pat Haskells, and a most interesting and informative talk on “Organic Gardening” by Mr Mark Spencer from the LA21 scheme. We will definitely be asking him back, for the benefit of those who were unable to attend.

A highlight in the next few months will be a Bonsai Demonstration by Mr Italo de Marco from Broadstone in April, with a special raffle for the Bonsai. Do please invite your friends. A very short AGM will follow that meeting, when your Annual Subscriptions will be due.

Attendance has averaged 20-25 people during the winter, in spite of hiccups with the heating. Our total membership is now well over 40, but almost entirely ladies. We do welcome gentlemen as well!

We will soon be having plant sales again, and opportunities to swap advice and ideas. New members and visitors are always welcome. We have a table sale and Raffle (optional) each time, and Refreshments.

Each meeting = members £1, visitors £1.25.
