Bearwood Youth Group

New Youth Group

As a Youth Service initiative, I am currently forming a group for young people in the area. This will be a small team of people who will get involved in the following:

As an active working group, we hope to visit as many establishments as possible, to broaden views on decision making processes, such as the Civic Centre, Police Station, Youth Service, etc. The group will take responsibility for monitoring its own progress, administration, letter writing and campaigning.

If you feel you have something to offer, and would like to join, please contact Sandra Chattaway, on 07977 259063 (mobile) or 262284 (work).

Welcome to…

A warm welcome is offered to Steve Fletcher, joining us as Worker-in-Charge at Bearwood Youth Centre, from 6 November. Steve comes from Parkstone Boys and Girls Club.

A keen snowboarder, Steve’s interests also include anything to do with water sports; living only a stone’s throw from Sandbanks Beach helps! We hope he will bring his enthusiasm and talents to help steer the Centre to even greater success in 2001.

As Line Manager, I will endeavour for us to involve ourselves fully with the local community, and particularly with issues, which affect young people.

CAN YOU HELP?

We are looking for someone to run the coffee bar for us at the above times as a voluntary worker. Can you spare the time to help out? You will need a good attitude and relationship with young people. Contact Sandra at the numbers above.

Any ex-members interested in helping out on the sports side – badminton, uni-hoc, pool, table tennis, softball? Again, please contact Sandra.

Thank you

Sandra Chattaway, Line Manager/Senior Detached Youth Worker
