Press Release: Magna Business Park - A New, Low Carbon, Employment Zone

A planning application is to be submitted shortly for consent to create an exciting new low carbon employment area in North Poole. Magna Business Park extends in total to approximately 17.6 ha (43.5 acres) and is situated adjoining
Magna Road.

The new employment zone will benefit from the availability of renewable heat and electrical energy supplied by Canford Renewable Energy Ltd via the Canford Site Control Centre which will also manage the waste produced
by the occupiers of the Business Park.

Magna Business Park has been designed to provide an attractive landscaped environment for medium to large businesses incorporating sustainable urban drainage areas whilst at the same time enhancing nature conservancy
within the greater Canford Heath area. The scheme has been designed to provide a total of 52,910 sq m (570,000 sq ft) of industrial floor space situated in a maximum of five plots.

The need to encourage and support economic growth is recognised as being critical at both national and local level and in that regard Magna Business Park offers the opportunity to create between 1100 and 1650 jobs. This in turn reflects
£96,000,000 Gross Value Added to the local economy and up to £51,000,000 in employee earnings.

Simon West of Cowling and West Chartered Surveyors comments, “There is currently a dire shortage of available employment sites within the Borough of Poole and indeed the greater conurbation of in excess of 2.5 ha (6.2 acres) capable of supporting the expansion requirements of medium to large businesses. Magna Business Park answers the needs of businesses seeking substantial modern industrial facilities in an attractive sustainable environment.”

As part of the public consultation process details of Magna Business Park are available on and comments are welcomed from all interested parties.
